Can you even see watercolours on black paper? Yes! With the right techniques and colours, it’s easier than you think. Light and metallic shades in particular look fantastic against a dark background. Also try gouache, soft pastels and oil pastels –the result is impressive – and you’ll see that black paper is completely different than white watercolour paper. We recommend always starting with a white base so that the colours stand out more clearly in your work..
If you already have watercolours at home, you can mix in a little white paint to make them appear lighter. It’s also a good idea to use watercolours with pearlescent pigment because they contrast sharply with the black background to create a beautiful effect.

Unused, unwanted, or damaged products may be returned to us in original packaging within 30 days of receipt of the goods. When returning products please include your name, customer number and the invoice/delivery advice note number with the items – this information must be shown on the outside of the package.
