Macramé hanging decorations with beads

These macramé hanging decorations are easy to make and can be used all year round. You will need a 350 cm piece of cord for the rosette and a 400 cm piece of cord for the heart. Braid the rosette and the heart almost identically. Comb the cord ends with a comb and trim to shape.

How to do it

Cut 14 pieces of cord, each measuring 20 cm and one 70 cm piece of cord for a circular hanging decoration. Secure all the small pieces of cord individually onto the wooden ring by feeding the ends through the loop (Lark's head knot). See the photo.

Secure the long doubled-over piece of cord for hanging onto the wooden ring following the same procedure as described above. Stagger the ends of this long doubled-over cord by 7 cm so that the end on the left is 7 cm longer than the one on the right.

Arrange the cord on the left around the wooden ring. Keep it slightly taut and braid around this cord with all the other cords attached onto the wooden ring. Feed the cords up, around and down then tighten, by tying a rib knot.
