Soapstone

1   Draw the figure on the stone, and then carve it roughly.

2   Shape the sculpture with a rasp and chisels.

3   Plane with a carving knife.

4   Sand with a sanding block.

5   Polish the sculpture with wet sandpaper in water.

6   Finally, heat the sculpture with a heat gun and saturate it with beeswax.
