Gold treasure chest

1 Print the idea PDF. Choose a colour of felt to line your treasure chest with and cut two pieces as shown.

2 Press a thin layer of sticky base firmly along the edges and bottom of the chest.

3 Now take the largest piece of felt and place it in the middle of the chest. Push it down towards the bottom.

4 Press the felt firmly against the bottom and sides of the chest. Repeat the same process with the small piece of felt to line the inside of the lid.

5 Paint the outside of the chest with gold craft paint. Paint carefully around the hinges. The hinges can also be unscrewed or covered with masking tape before painting. Apply two coats of paint to the chest for an opaque effect. Allow the chest to dry open so that the lid does not stick.

6 Use the stencil to cut strips of self-adhesive EVA foam in gold. Two strips of each length are needed.

7 Remove the paper from the back of the strips and stick them to the chest next to the hinges. The shortest strips are glued on the back, the long strips across the lid and the last one on the front of the chest.

8 Decorate the treasure chest with rhinestones. Squeeze out a small dab of multi glue for each rhinestone.

9 Now press the rhinestone into the glue. Allow to dry for around 1 hour.
