Decorative sculptures with resin casting mix with a marble effect

1   "IMPORTANT: If you want to make a coloured casting mix, stir the paint into the water before pouring it into the resin casting mix. Pour the mixture into the resin powder and stir thoroughly until the mixture has a creamy consistency.

You can add more powder to thicken it or more water to make it creamier.

For these three sculptures, you will need a total of 800 g of resin.

The mixing ratio is approx. 100 g resin casting mix to 35 g water in addition to paint. See the instructions on the bag.
Use the mixture within approx. 20 minutes after stirring because it hardens quickly.

To make a ribbed sculpture, mix a total of 300 g of resin.
White: approx. 180 g + 63 g water.
Pink: approx. 50 g + 18 g water + 1.5 g paint.
Red: approx. 50 g + 18 g water + 1.5 g paint.
Brown: approx. 20 g + 8 g water + 1 g paint.

For the arch, mix a total of 250 g of resin.
White: 150 g + 53 g water.
Pink: 25 g. + 8.75 g water +1 g paint
Red: 50 g + 18 g water + 1.5 g paint
Brown: 25 g + 8.75 g water + 1 g paint.

For the teardrop, use the same mixture as for the arch."

2   The white resin:

Add water gradually, stirring thoroughly.

3   Pour the mixture into the mould.

4   Mix the paint thoroughly with the water. The three colours are mixed together.

5   Pour in the reddish colour.

6   Pour in the brownish colour.

7   Press/tap the mould so that the mass flows together inside it.

8   Pour the pink candle wax into the mould. Lightly tap the bottom of the mould for 2-3 minutes until all air bubbles rise to the surface.

9   Allow the casting to dry for at least 3-4 hours. After it has dried, roll down the silicone mould and remove the casting.

10   Sand away any unevenness with water and a sanding sponge or sandpaper.
