Crocheted Chunky Placemat

Crochet your own placemat in thick yarn and add thin cotton yarn for a nice striped effect. Placemats are a great beginner's project if you have little crocheting experience. The thick yarn helps you make progress quickly – and you only need to work with three types of stitches.
