Canvas Painting with Embroidery and Letter Beads

Create your own little works of art on canvas. Start by drawing with markers, then add details using embroidery thread, beads, and rhinestones. With the letter beads, you can write short quotes or words that describe you.

How to do it

Start by drawing abstract patterns on the canvas with Multi Marker. If you like, create a defined area, like the pink one here, to later write words with letter beads.

Choose the colour of embroidery thread you want to stitch with, and cut a piece measuring 30–50 cm. Slide the needle down over the loop of the needle threader and pull the thread through the loop as shown.

Pull the needle up over the thread and remove the needle threader.

Tie a knot at the end of the thread.

Start from the back and push the needle through the canvas.

Pull the thread through to the front. The knot is now hidden on the back.

Find the letter beads that make up the word you want to spell. Slide the first letter bead onto the thread, and push the needle down through the canvas, as shown.

Continue in the same way with the remaining letters.

Secure the end on the back by passing the needle through the previous stitches in a zigzag pattern.

Repeat in the opposite direction.

Cut off the end with scissors.

Now use the yellow embroidery thread to sew an outline around the cloud. Do this by making small stitches up and down. Also, add heart-shaped beads.

Secure the end at the back.

And cut the thread.

You can also add rhinestones. Start from the back, and push the needle through the hole in the rhinestone. Then pierce the needle down through the fabric and pull tight.

Here, more rhinestones have been added, and long stitches have been sewn along the marker lines.

Secure the end at the back again and cut.

Also sew on beads, and create more beautiful patterns with embroidery thread, rhinestones, and beads. Let your imagination run wild and keep embroidering.
