Butterfly pencil case and coin purse

Create colourful butterflies with textile markers to make a unique pencil case or coin purse. Decorate with your favourite colours – and remember that there is a butterfly design printed on both sides. The perfect creative back-to-school project for children.

How to do it

Keep the marker from bleeding through the fabric by cutting a piece of cardboard from the box to place inside the pencil case.

Fold the cardboard and put it inside.

Straighten the cardboard so that it covers the entire pencil case.

Decorate with textile markers.

Once the markers have dried after around 6 hours, iron the design to heat-set it. Remove the cardboard from the pencil case/coin purse.
Turn inside out, place baking paper inside and on top of the decoration. Iron on medium (cotton) heat for around 5 minutes.
After ironing, the colours will be permanent and can be washed up to 40 degrees.
