Make your own agate jewellery with a beautiful combination of beads and cord. The jewellery is made with agate beads, wax beads and colourful cord – with knots tied between the beads for a beautiful colour effect.

How to do it
1 Attach the carabiner to the cord.
2 Tie a double knot.
3 Cut off the excess cord – leaving 2 mm, which will be melted in the next step.
4 Melt the end very carefully over a candle or other source of heat.
5 Thread one bead at a time.
6 Tie a knot after each bead.
7 Place the needle through the knot close to the bead.
8 Tighten and repeat the process until the necklace is the desired length.
9 Once the necklace is long enough, thread on the oval jump ring.
10 Tie a double knot.
11 Place the needle close to the bead in the middle of the knot.
12 Tighten.
12 Cut off the excess cord, leaving 2 mm on the end. Melt the end very carefully over a candle or other source of heat.
14 Cut a piece of cord the same length as your wrist + 12 cm.
15 Tie a knot to start threading the beads. There should be at least 6 cm on each side for making the opening and closing mechanism.
16 Thread a bead onto the cord.
17 Tie a knot.
18 Place the needle through the knot close to the bead.
19 Tighten. Repeat this process until you have threaded the desired number of beads. Keep in mind that there should be an extra 6 cm on the end, just like on the other end.
20 Tie knots on both ends as shown in the picture.
21 Secure the knots by carefully burning the ends over a candle or other heat source.
22 Secure the ends with tape as shown in the picture.
23 Cut a piece of cord around 25 cm long.
24 Place the cord under the bracelet’s two cords with equal amounts of cord from the centre outwards.
25 Now tie a knot.
26 Tighten.
27 Tie another knot:
Thread one cord under the two bracelet cords. Now thread it upwards through the knot.
Thread the other cord under the two bracelet cords. Now thread it downwards through the knot.
28 Tighten.
29 Repeat this process at least 6 times.
30 Cut off the ends, leaving 2 mm on each side.
31 Gently burn the ends to secure the knot.
