A Gift Bag folded from Oslo Design Paper

A gift bag made from Vivi Gade design paper (the Oslo series). First the bag design is cut out from paper. Then it is scrunched up and straightened out again to add a rustic look to the paper. The bag is assembled with E-Z Dots and fastened with a stickers and a piece of natural hemp.

How to do it
1. Print out the template which is available as a separate PDF file for this idea. Cut it out and copy it onto design paper. NB: Cut away the wedges as shown in the picture.
2. Use a pencil for drawing the dotted lines along the edge of the design paper. Now score the lines with a bone folder.
3. Fold the bag along the score lines.
4. Gently scrunch up the paper to make it soft and to give it a rustic look. NB: You may scrunch up the paper before cutting, scoring and folding it.
5. Fold on either side of the score lines that make the sides of the bag.
6. Apply glue, i.e. E-Z Dots, along the edge.
7. Fold the glued edge in towards the bag, so that the front and the back are the same size on either side of the fold.
8. Glue the base together. One flap at the time.
9. Cut the edges along the top of the gift bag using pinking shears.
10. Fold down the top of the bag and make two horizontal holes through all the layers of paper using a Screw Punch.
