Silk Painting with Colors suitable for Fixing with an Iron

1.   Fill in the flowers with paint; i.e. Textil Silk, which must be fixed with an iron. Do not paint on the lines of transparent Gutta.

2.   Let the scarf dry overnight and fix with an iron, placing a piece of baking paper between the iron and the scarf.

3   Silk Painting with Gutta: Gutta is made from natural rubber - and is probably the most famous outlining product (for marking out areas when using silk paint). It is suitable for silk paint which can be fixed with an iron as well as steam fixed.

4   1. Attach a metal Gutta applicator tip to the Gutta bottle and write text or draw lines in the washed silk. Allow the Gutta to dry and fill in the spaces with silk paint. 2. Fix the silk and rinse out the excess paint and Gutta.

5   Silk Painting with Salt: The salt absorbs the paint. This results in exciting designs appearing on the silk. Suitable for silk paint which can be fixed with an iron as well as steam fixed.

6   1. Wash the silk and dry it if needed. Paint the silk and sprinkle coarse Effect Salt into the wet paint. Let the salt absorb the color until it is dry. 2. Shake the salt off. Fix the silk and rinse out the excess paint.

7   Silk Painting with Liquid Wax: Suitable for silk colors which can be fixed with an iron as well as steam fixed.

8   Place the silk on top of a piece of tin foil and dab liquid wax onto the scarf. Let it dry. Apply silk paint, let it dry. Fix it. Rinse off the liquid wax and the excess paint.
