Make elegant bowls from oyster shells using the kintsugi technique. The shells are decorated with decoupage paper in beautiful blue designs, while the edges are coloured with a gold marker. If you prefer, you can draw your own design on the shells. The technique is inspired by the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi that celebrates the beauty of the imperfect.

How to do it
1 Cut out the decoupage paper so that you have three pieces with different designs.
2 Wash all oyster shells thoroughly.
3 Dry the oyster shells.
4 Apply glue to one of the oyster shells.
5 Use a brush to spread the glue all over the inside of the oyster shell.
6 Now choose one of the decoupage paper pieces.
7 Press on the paper where glue has been applied and allow to dry.
8 Cut off the excess paper.
9 Seal the surface by coating it with a layer of glue.
10 Make sure to seal it tightly around the edges of the oyster shell. This is important for when you add the gold edging later.
11 Repeat the process with the other oyster shells. Finish by drawing gold around the edges of the oyster shells.
12 You can also decorate the oyster shells with creative multi markers.
13 Decorate with any design you want – only your imagination sets the limits. Allow to dry.
14 Now decorate the edges of the oyster shell with a gold marker.
15 Finish by sealing the marker design with glue and allow to dry.
