Christmas candles in felt

Sew your own Christmas candles in felt that will last year after year. The always and forever candles are stuffed with doll stuffing and decorated with sewn-on beads, embroidered stars and flames made with pipe cleaners and glitter pom-poms. The candles are then inserted into metal candle holders.

How to do it Download the templates/recipes
1 Cut out the felt according to the pattern.
2 Sew small stars onto the off-white felt.
3 Once all stars are made, split the yarn and continue sewing with only one thread.
4 Sew the candle together. Sew along the edges of the felt, alternating sides as you go along, and split the embroidery yarn so that you are only sewing with one thread.
5 Sew along the edges of the felt while alternating sides.
6 Fill with the doll stuffing.
7 Next, sew on the end.
8 Sew the bottom with lock stitches, pull together and fasten off the end.
9 To create the flame, wrap the pipe cleaner around the pom-pom.
10 Bend the long end to create a flame. Next, wrap it around the pipe cleaner at the bottom.
11 Now wrap the green piece of felt around the silver pipe cleaner, but without covering the silver completely.
12 Bend the long piece of silver pipe cleaner around the small flame.
13 Wrap the end around the small piece of pipe cleaner at the bottom.
14 Make a hole for the flame in the candle using the needle.
15 Insert the flame into the candle.
16 Sew beads onto the green felt piece. Afterwards follow the same instructions as for the off-white candle.
17 Insert the candles into the metal candle holders.
