Bead-embroidered cherries on a jeans jacket

Upcycle a used jacket or decorate your own jacket with beaded embroidery. Sew the beads onto the clothing with transparent nylon sewing thread. Sew the cherry embroidery in approx. an hour. Decorate jackets, knitted jumpers or cardigans, shopping bags and trousers with beaded cherry embroidery.

How to do it

Refresh your second-hand shop purchase or your old jeans jacket with beaded embroidery.

Thread the needle with a doubled-over piece of transparent nylon sewing thread. Make a triple knot at one end. Push the needle from the back of the garment to the front and begin with the middle bead of the berry. Sew six beads around the middle bead, one at a time.

Secure the thread onto the back of the garment after having made two berries. Push the needle through the fabric. Wrap the thread three times around the needle in the loop which is formed before tightening. Secure the thread as you go along to limit the damage in case the sewing thread breaks.

Sew the stalk and the leaves following the procedure described in step 1. Use six green beads in a straight line for the stalk and six green beads in an oblong shape for the leaf. Secure the thread as described in step 3.
